-Vanshika Parmar of Nadaun, Hamirpur, Himachal Pradesh was crowned Miss India Earth 2022 at the age of 19 and represented India internationally at Miss Earth 2022 in the Philippines, thereby becoming the first ever Miss India from Himachal Pradesh to represent India internationally at Miss Earth which is one of the top three alpha beauty pageants of the world.


-Miss Earth India or Miss India Earth is a title given to the Indian woman who represents India at Miss Earth, an annual, international beauty pageant promoting environmental awareness.

-Miss Earth India also awards a candidate with the "Beauty with a Responsibility" title which aims to acknowledge the work done by the beauty queens in order to bring a substantial change and to also support the future endeavours of their projects.  The 2021 winner of the award was Vanshika Parmar.

Vanshika’s commitment to environmental causes extends beyond India’s borders. Not long ago, Vanshika received an invitation from Ghana’s tourism ministry to advocate for eco-tourism and environmentally conscious initiatives in Africa. Furthermore, during her participation in the Miss Earth 2022 pageant in the Philippines, she assumed the role of an ambassador in the fight against the climate crisis.

-Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu asked Miss Earth India 2022 Vanshika Parmar to work for women empowerment and collaborate with the state government for the welfare of single girl child.
He said Vanshika is a source of inspiration for other girls of the state. Himachali girls were excelling in various fields at the international level and are becoming idols for others.

-Governor Rajendra Vishwanath Arlekar at Raj Bhawan Congratulated Vanshika Parmar and praised her self-confidence and talent. He said her success was a matter of pride for the state and the country, and an inspiration to others.

-Vanshika also received immense appreciation from Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur via twitter for winning the coveted title of Miss Earth India.

-Vanshika has been made the ambassador of tourism for Himachal Pradesh. She would represent the state at the international level and present to the world the window to its unexplored scenic treasures, picturesque landscapes, rich cultural heritage and festivals.
Presently, she is shooting documentaries and short films for Himachal Pradesh Tourism .

-As the Tourism Ambassador of Himachal Pradesh, Vanshika has joined forces with the government to foster sustainability and promote eco-tourism in her home state. As she continues her role as the Ambassador of Himachal Pradesh, Vanshika strives to be an ambassador for sustainability and environmental healing, contributing to the well-being of Mother Earth.

-Vanshika Parmar was chosen to represent India at an illustrious event of the G20 2023 summit - the Ladakh International Fashion runway to commemorate G20’s presidency, which was organised at Ladakh in collaboration with the Indian armed forces.
The event aimed at combating climate crisis by means of sustainable fashion and promoting eco tourism in Ladakh in addition to celebrating the local craftsmanship and rich cultural heritage of India.

-This event was also a Guinness Book of World Records attempt as it was the highest elevation fashion ramp to be performed at an altitude of 19,022 feet on Umlinga.

-The show also aimed at increasing the use of Non-Violent Silk (Indian-made fabric) in the global fashion industry.

The world’s highest motorable road at 190024 ft ‘Umling-la’ scored another World Record by successfully hosting the World’s Highest International Fashion Runway on Sept 28, under Vibrant Ladakh Festival, in which international models from 14 nations across the world participated.
The event was organised by UT Ladakh Administration and LAHDC Leh in partnership with Ladakh Art and Entertainment Alliance and supported by Indian Army and Border Roads Organisation.
The event was graced by the Executive Councillor, RDD, Tashi Namgyal Yakzee as the chief guest in the presence of Councillor Nyoma, Ishey Spalzang; Councillor Lamayuru, Morup Dorjey; Chief Engineer, Project Himank, Brig Gaurav Karki; Colonel Ponung Doming, 775 BRTF; officials/representatives of Ladakh Art and Entertainment Alliance Sushil Choudhary, Sonam Stobgais and Pankaj Kumar Gupta and All Changthang Pashmina Growers Cooperative Marketing Society; PRI members from Koyul village and other concerned officials and representatives were also present.
With the participation of international models including two Ladakhi models, the Umling-la Fashion Show aimed at symbolizing and promoting the vibrant culture of India espoused in ‘Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam’ and the highly valued GI tagged Pashmina of Ladakh, all rooted in the promoting sustainable and responsible tourism. The costumes donned by the models introduced the colour palette of the Spring/Summer 2024 and also showcased products made from Pashmina which is produced in Changthang region.
Chairman/CEC, LAHDC Leh, Tashi Gyalson applauded the World Record achieved at the height of 190024 ft at Umling-la by the historic participation of brand ambassadors from around 14 nations in the first-of-its-kind Ladakh International Fashion Runway. He extended gratitude to Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi and Home Minister Shri Amit Shah for the decision of the Home Ministry for allowing foreign tourists to stay in Hanle, enabling the overnight stay of the models in Hanle as well.
He lauded the spirit of Vasudhaiva Kutmbakam reflected in the participation of the international models, which was further strengthened
during the foundation stone laying ceremony for the Buddhe Statue at Umlingla as the sands brought by the foreign models was also integrated. CEC Gyalson also appreciated the exemplary administrative supported extended by the Indian Army and BRO led by Brigadier Gaurav Karki and Colonel Ponung Doming.
Addressing the gathering, Executive Councillor Tashi Namgyal Yakzee lauded the dedicated efforts of the organisers and the empowered women/models for successfully conducting the historic World’s Highest International Fashion Runway at World’s Highest Motorable Road Umling-la in Changthang. He added that such unique initiatives will play a significant role in promoting and strengthening ‘Border Tourism’, which undoubtedly received a major impetus under the visionary leadership of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.
Extending his gratitude to Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi and Home Minister Shri Amit Shah, EC Tashi Yakzee appreciated the recent decision of Home Ministry to allow international tourists to reside in Hanle for night stay and opening Martsemik and Sko valley for tourism and trekking.
On the occasion, promoting the ‘One Earth, One Family’ theme of G20 India, a foundation stone was laid for the construction of Lord Buddha’s statue at Umling-la for World Peace, in which the sand brought by the models from their respective countries was also immersed.
Being the first international tourists allowed for night stay in Hanle, the villagers expressing their elation over the landmark decision of Home Ministry felicitated the models and performed exclusive cultural performances in their honour.

In addition to being a beauty queen, she is an all rounder not just excelling in academics being a topper throughout her schooling years but also shining bright in co-curricular activities.
She was awarded Vidhu Baduni Merit Scholarship by Air Force Golden Jubilee Institute for academic excellence and standing overall first in the academic session 2018-2019.

-Her father SK Parmar is an officer in the Indian Air Force and her mother Rittu Parmar is a social worker.

-Vanshika comes from a family with a strong military background.
Her father, Group Captain Shusheel Kumar Parmar, serves as an officer in the Indian Air Force, while her paternal grandfather Col Shakti Chand Parmar is a retired army officer.
Her maternal grandfather Late Col Nanak Chand Chauhan was also an officer in the Indian Army.
